Three kinds of work. One team. One number.

The engineer who fits the boiler is on the same payroll as the electrician who wires the battery and the plumber who does the bathroom. Nothing is subcontracted.

Established tepeo ZEB installer

Off gas without a heat pump.

The tepeo ZEB stores cheap overnight electricity as heat and runs your existing radiators and hot water like a boiler. No flame, no flue, no outdoor unit, so it fits terraces, flats and listed houses where a heat pump will not. We survey, install and commission it with our own engineers.

About Paynes

Thirty-five years, one family, over 50,000 customers.

Paynes started in 1990 and is still family-run from Oak Tree Barn at Blackboys. The fleet has grown to around 50 vehicles, the first of them now electric, and the work has grown from boilers and plumbing into solar, batteries and heat batteries. What has not changed is that you get a Paynes engineer, employed by Paynes, who can be back next year for the service.

More about the company

Sussex, Kent, Surrey and south London.

Almost all of our work is in the 3 counties around the barn and the boroughs south of the Thames: the coast from Portsmouth to Eastbourne, the Weald, west Kent and the Medway towns, Croydon and south-east London. Emergency engineers cover the same ground 24 hours a day on 01825 891720.

Five questions we get asked most.

Anything else, ask the office on 01825 891720, weekdays 8am to 5:30pm. Outside those hours the same number reaches the on-call engineer.

Do you do emergency call-outs?
Yes, 24 hours a day on 01825 891720 for burst pipes, major leaks, heating failures and boiler breakdowns. The same number reaches the office in working hours and the on-call engineer outside them.
What accreditations do you hold?

Do you work for businesses as well as homes?

What is a tepeo ZEB?
A Zero Emission Boiler: a heat battery that stores cheap electricity as heat and runs your existing radiators like a boiler would, with no flame, flue or outdoor unit. Paynes is an established tepeo installer.
