Air conditioning that heats and cools

Modern air conditioning is a heat pump in a different shape: the same unit cools a room in July and heats it in January, and does both efficiently. For a loft conversion, a home office, a shop floor or a bedroom under a south-facing roof, it is often the simplest answer.

What the job includes

Our F-Gas qualified engineers do the cooling-load assessment, install wall-mounted or ducted systems from Bosch, Daikin and Mitsubishi, run the condensate drainage properly so walls stay dry, commission the system and register the warranty. Annual inspections keep it running cleanly.

Cooling and heating load assessment
The room, the glazing, the use and the occupancy, so the unit is sized correctly.
Wall-mounted and ducted systems
Single rooms or whole floors, with duct installation where central distribution is wanted.
Condensate drainage
Properly installed drainage pipework so condensation never ends up in the wall.
Commissioning and warranty registration
Documentation handed over with the system.
Inspection and servicing
Filters, refrigerant and drainage checked annually.

Common questions

Do you need a qualification to install air conditioning?

Yes. Handling refrigerant requires F-Gas certification, which our engineers hold.

Can one system heat as well as cool?

Yes. Air-to-air heat pumps do both, and heating a single room this way is efficient.

How noisy is the outdoor unit?

Modern units from Daikin, Mitsubishi and Bosch are quiet; we position them away from bedrooms and neighbours' windows and mount them on anti-vibration brackets.

Do you do commercial installations?

Yes, shops, offices and workshops as well as homes.
