Solar panels, designed for your roof and your bills

A solar system is a design job before it is an installation job. We look at the roof orientation and pitch, the shading, how much electricity the household actually uses and when, and whether a battery makes sense now or later, then design a system around that rather than selling a standard kit.

What the job includes

We handle scaffolding, roof access, panels, inverters, optimisers or microinverters for shaded roofs, wiring, grid connection, export metering, testing and commissioning, and we hand over the MCS certificate and the documentation you need for the Smart Export Guarantee. Roof-mounted and ground-mounted, domestic and commercial.

Survey and design
Orientation, pitch, shading and your consumption profile, modelled before a quote.
Roof and ground mounting
In-roof and on-roof systems, and ground arrays where the roof is wrong but the garden is right.
Optimisers and microinverters
For roofs with chimneys, dormers or trees in the way.
Battery integration
Hybrid inverters and battery storage now, or a system built ready for it later.
Grid connection and export
DNO notification, export meter, and registration for the Smart Export Guarantee.
MCS certification
The certificate and documentation that grants, export tariffs and future buyers ask for.

How it goes

  1. 01Site survey and consumption review.
  2. 02System design and a quote showing predicted generation.
  3. 03Scaffold, installation and electrical work, typically one to three days.
  4. 04Commissioning, grid paperwork, MCS certificate, monitoring app set up.

Common questions

Are you MCS certified?

Yes, and RECC members. Both matter: MCS for the certificate and export tariffs, RECC for the consumer code the installation is sold under.

Does my roof face the right way?

South is best, east and west still work well, and optimisers deal with partial shading. The survey gives you a generation estimate for your actual roof.

Do I need a battery?

Not always. If you are out all day a battery lets you use your own daytime power in the evening; if someone is home the panels alone may do most of the work. We model both.

What is the Smart Export Guarantee?

A scheme under which your electricity supplier pays you for power you export. An MCS certificate is needed to register, and we provide it.

Do you install ground-mounted systems?

Yes, where the roof is unsuitable and there is ground with a clear southern aspect.
