The tepeo ZEB: a boiler replacement with no flame and no outdoor unit
The tepeo ZEB stores electricity as heat and releases it to your radiators and hot water when the house asks for it, exactly as a boiler would. There is no combustion, so nothing is burnt in the house, and no outdoor unit, so it fits where a heat pump cannot. It charges when electricity is cheapest.
What the job includes
Paynes is an established tepeo installer. We survey the property, confirm the ZEB suits the heat demand and the electrical supply, install it in place of the old boiler, and commission it on your tariff. If you want off gas or oil without changing the radiators, this is the conversation to have.

Common questions
What is a tepeo ZEB?
A Zero Emission Boiler: a thermal battery that stores electricity as heat and delivers it to radiators and hot water like a conventional boiler, with no flame and no flue.
Is it a heat pump?
No. A heat pump moves heat from outside; the ZEB stores heat inside. The ZEB needs no outdoor unit and no radiator changes, and suits homes where a heat pump is impractical.
Will it work with my radiators?
Yes. It replaces the boiler on the existing wet system.
What does it cost to run?
It depends on your tariff. The ZEB is designed to charge on cheap off-peak electricity, which is what makes the running costs work; we set it up on your tariff at commissioning.
