New oil boilers for homes off the gas grid

Much of rural Sussex and Kent is off the gas grid, so oil is what heats it. A modern condensing oil boiler from Worcester Bosch or Grant runs at over 90% efficiency, which against a boiler from the 1990s is a real difference on the fuel bill.

What the job includes

We size the boiler from your heating and hot water demand, inspect the tank and the pipework, fit a remote-sensing fire valve where one is missing, and commission the boiler under our OFTEC registration. Modern controls let you run it from your phone.

Technical assessment and sizing
Heat demand and property size, so the boiler is neither undersized nor wasteful.
Worcester Bosch and Grant boilers
Internal and external condensing models, over 90% efficient.
Oil tank inspection
Condition, bunding and position checked against current regulations.
Oil pipework and fire valves
Replaced or added where the existing installation falls short.
Controls
Precise fuel management and remote temperature control from a smartphone.
Commissioning
Full commissioning and OFTEC paperwork.

Common questions

Are you OFTEC registered?

Yes. Oil installations, servicing and repairs are all carried out under our OFTEC registration.

Do I need a new tank as well?

Not always. We inspect the tank and tell you if it fails current requirements on condition, bunding or position; if it is sound, it stays.

Can I switch from oil to something else?

Often. An air-source heat pump or a tepeo ZEB heat battery are both routes off oil, and we install both. The heat-loss survey tells you which suits the house.

How efficient is a new oil boiler?

Modern condensing oil boilers run at over 90% efficiency. Older non-condensing boilers can be well below 80%.
